Without question, U.S. students are studying abroad in greater numbers than ever before. After a decade of discussion of globalization and its impact, more and more colleges and universities are adding institutional internationalization to the mission statement and the list of institutional priorities. The Open Doors Reports and an increasing number of internationalization awards and collaborative projects, underscore the point that Study Abroad clearly plays a large part, often a major role, in institutional internationalization.
