Leading Institutions by Study Abroad Participation Rate: Tables are Now Online

IIE has now posted the study abroad participation rate tables on the Open Doors website at:
http://opendoors.iienetwork.org/?p=StudyAbroad

IIE began calculating the study abroad participation rate in order to present a balanced picture of study abroad activity in the United States. Rankings by totals tend to heavily represent the larger institutions, since they send higher numbers of study abroad than smaller institutions. However, many of the smaller institutions send a very large proportion of their student body abroad.

We want to take this opportunity to separately highlight the study abroad achievements of our smaller institutions. We would like to salute these institutions for providing many American students with the opportunity to obtain an international education and for sending such large proportions of their student body abroad.

The participation rate rankings truly demonstrate the institutional support and commitment to study abroad that these institutions have made over the years. This is a significant accomplishment and a great contribution to the internationalization of campuses in the United States.

To view the study abroad participation rates of the leading institutions by institutional type, please go to http://opendoors.iienetwork.org/?p=StudyAbroad and click on the "Institutions by Undergraduate Participation Rate" link.
